Former lightweight champion American Teofim Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs) returns – on the night of August 13-14, he will make his debut fight in the super lightweight category (up to 63.5 kg) against Mexican Pedro Campa. This will be Teofimo’s first appearance since losing to Australian George Kambosos last November.
- Teofimo Lopez – Pedro Campa: forecast and bets for the fight on August 14
This week, journalists asked Lopez how their rematch with Kambosos would have developed if they had met again. The American, who attributed that failure to serious health problems, has no doubt that George, to put it mildly, would have had a hard time.
“This time I would beat him the fuck up, and believe me, I would try to do it,” said Lopez. – If the (re-)fight had taken place, I would have put him down or something like that. I would definitely not let the referee intervene and stop the fight. I want to kill him. Well, I mean, not really, you know? Just give him a spanking, a beating. Such a lingering spanking.
Meanwhile, Campa made a statement before the fight with Teofimo: “I’m going to win!”
