Last weekend, the legendary Floyd Mayweather Jr. spent in Canastota, where he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
Not avoiding communication with journalists, Floyd was forced to answer, among other things, the question about the future of the star American lightweight Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 25 KOs).
Recall that at the end of May, Gervonta successfully defended his WBA World title by stopping Rolando Romero. This was Davis’ last fight under a contract with Mayweather Promotions.
“I’m not here to talk about Tank,” Floyd said, but still couldn’t help it. – He is a hellish fighter and he is with us forever. I like Tank, I love Tank, and he loves me. We have a wonderful relationship and we are happy together. Tank, I love you. We talk to him every day. Keep up the good work, I’m proud of you.”
Earlier, Davis himself said that he had already changed his mind about leaving Mayweather.
