Former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm, who will share the Octagon with Yana Kunitskaya this weekend at UFC on ESPN 43 in San Antonio, has signed a new six-fight contract with the strongest league in the world.
This was announced in an interview with the Albuquerque Journal by the manager of the 41-year-old American Lenny Fresques.
“The UFC knew Holly had a lot of options,” Fresques said. “She was in high demand and probably could have made more money elsewhere. Her goal remains championship gold. She’s one or two wins away from a title fight.”
Holly Holm last fought in May last year, losing a split decision to Kathleen Vieira, and Yana Kunitskaya last entered the octagon in July 2021, losing by technical knockout in the first round to Irene Aldane.
Holly Holm and Yana Kunitskaya are currently ranked third and sixth in the UFC women’s bantamweight division, respectively.
