Henry Sehudo fired his head coach before his fight with Merab Dvalishvili

Former UFC double champion, Henry Cejudo, has made some major changes to his training camp in preparation for his upcoming fight against Merab Dvalishvili.

Specifically, “Triple Crown Champion” has thinned out his coaching staff, including firing head coach Erik Albarracin. This was revealed in the traditional countdown video for a potential lightweight contender bout.

“You were with me at my last Olympic competition and you’ve been by my side the whole time since then, but now I want to let you know that in this training camp I’m getting rid of some coaches, including you,” Sejudo told the Brazilian. “When you get too close to someone, people get too comfortable. Right now, I want this training camp to be strictly business-like.”

Albarracin responded to this situation with dignity, informing his ward that he always tried to act in his best interest.

“The goal has always been the same – for you to become the greatest fighter of all time,” the specialist replied. “That was my dream.”

“That’s why this man is the greatest trainer – he’s the most selfless person you’ll ever meet. ‘Captain’ Eric Albarracin,” the American said.

As a reminder, the bout between Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili will take place on February 17 at UFC 298 in Anaheim.
