Contender for the UFC welterweight championship belt, Belal Muhammad, will be a serious test for the division’s reigning champion, Leon Edwards, as he stylistically resembles undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov the most, former UFC double champion Henry Sehudo believes.
“So, we just found out that Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards will meet at UFC 300,” MMAnews quoted “Triple Champion” as saying. “It’s going to be a great competitive fight. Considering how Belal Muhammad defeated Gilbert Burns, I conclude that stylistically, he’s only gotten better.”
“I will say this: the guy who looks the most like Khabib Nurmagomedov is named Belal Muhammad. They move, run and throw punches the same way. They do the same feints with their front hand to eventually change levels and have a take-down.”
The welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad will reportedly be part of the UFC 300 anniversary event on April 13 in Las Vegas, however, representatives from the organization have not yet made any statements on the matter.
On the eve it became known that in the near future Belal Muhammad will go to Dagestan and join the team of Khabib Nurmagomedov, with whom he will spend one of the stages of preparation for the title fight.
