Henry Cejudo out of fight with Marlon Vera

Former UFC two-weight champion Henry Cejudo has been injured and pulled out of his fight against Marlon Vera on August 19 at UFC 292 in Boston.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to fight over my right shoulder,” the Triple Champion said in a video posted to the social media. “Guys, I already tore a ligament in my left shoulder, after which I recovered for a year. Now I have a 50% ligament tear, and I don’t want to tear it even more. ”

Cejudo explained that rehabilitation will take six to eight weeks, after which he plans to continue his path to the bantamweight championship belt, but did not rule out a title fight in the flyweight category.

“At the end of the day, the guy I still want to fight is the number one contender and his name is Merab Dvalishvili. That’s what I’m aiming for, but who knows, maybe I’ll fight Brandon Moreno if you’re interested.”

Representatives of the UFC have not made statements on this matter, so it is not yet known whether Marlon Vera will get a new opponent, or will leave the event card after the injured American.
