Henry Cejudo challenged Merab Dvalishvili

A day after a controversial defeat in the confrontation with the reigning UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, Henry Cejudo announced that he wants to see Merab Dvalishvili, who occupies the first line in the division, as his next opponent.

“This is f***ing far from over! Dana White, I want Merab Dvalishvili’s head on the plate at the UFC Boston tournament,” the Triple Champion wrote on the social network.

As you know, the Georgian fighter is a close friend and sparring partner of Sterling, and for this reason does not want to fight for the championship belt.

“He doesn’t want to fight Aljo, so I have no idea what to do with him,” UFC President Dana White said at a press conference after UFC 288 when asked about Dvalishvili’s prospects. “We offered Merab a fight for the title, he could get it tomorrow”

The fight between Sterling and Cejudo, headlined at UFC 288 in Newark, went all the way to win the defending champion via split decision.

Aljamain Sterling’s next opponent will be division number two Sean O’Malley, who could take place on August 19 at UFC 292 in Boston.
