Inselparkhalle, Hamburg, Germany. In the main event of the evening, the top heavyweight prospect (over 90.7 kg) Jean Kosobutsky (18-0, 17 KOs) from Kazakhstan forced the age-old ex-challenger Frenchman Joanne Duopu (39-7, 26 KOs) to capitulate ahead of schedule.
The battle proceeded at a leisurely pace. The veteran hid behind a high block and pressed. Left-handed Avenue circled and punched around the block, sometimes along the hull. What was happening was strongly reminiscent of sparring.
In the 2nd round, Kosobutsky already fought with the first number. After one of his attacks, Duop fell, tangled in the ropes. The referee decided that there was no knockdown. Strange decision.
In the 3rd three-minute period, Duop suddenly increased the pace of the fight, tried to work more aggressively, but picked up blows when trying to get into close range. The veteran’s left eye was almost closed, the cap began to fall out, the desire to continue the fight was almost gone. He suffered a little more, but did not reach the 6th round. Thank him for this.
Kosobutsky RTD 5.
On the undercard, a lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) from Belarus had his third professional fight
Dmitry Asanov (3-0, 2 KOs) – medalist of the World Championship and winner of the European Games. He defeated Mexican Marcos Villasana by decision (27-7, 15 KOs).
Asanov joined the fight in the last seconds of the starting three-minute period. He was ahead of his opponent in maneuverability and speed of decision-making, he was distinguished by a nice arsenal of strikes. I didn’t like the controversial idea to end the fight on an open bike. It is possible that he did not calculate the strength for the entire distance.
Asanov UD 8.
