British promoter Eddie Hearn reacted to the attack of the American colleague Oscar De La Hoya from Golden Boy Promotions.
Recall that Oscar recently criticized Hearn for picking up Russian Dmitry Bivol, an “unknown boxer” with an uncomfortable style, from whom superstar Alvarez was defeated in early May, as his rivals.
Edward, in turn, recalled De La Hoya, who led Canelo from the beginning of his professional career, the boxer’s debut defeat in 2013.
“It’s nice of him to say my name, very nice,” Hearn says. “He groaned something about how I was to blame for Canelo’s defeat. So Canelo makes his own decisions. And is he himself? Put Canelo up against Floyd Mayweather when Alvarez was about 12 years old (actually 23, approx. WMMAA)”.
“Canelo wants the biggest and toughest fights possible. We respect him for this. The fans love him for it. There was a nuisance, but what can you do, ”the British functionary added philosophically.
Eddie also did not ignore De La Hoya’s statement, according to which he is ready to sell his company and allegedly has already received a billion dollar offer.
“Billion dollar offer? He’s just not himself, Hearn is sure. “Subtract a few zeros from the amount and it will be the real cost.”
“I am 100 times his size.” Hearn answered Ellerbee for Canelo, PPV and a billion spent
