Former UFC light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson shared a prediction for a potential fight between Khamzat Chimaev and welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
“Honestly, I think Hamzat will put Kamara Usman to bed,” Gustafsson told ESPN. -He will just get to his chin and the chance that Usman will go to sleep will be very big. I like Kamaru, the man breaks records, I like his jab, he has a beautiful style. But I just don’t see that he will be able to withstand Khamzat’s blow. He will just go to sleep. He will not cope with his blows, with combinations. Interesting fight. If he goes into the fight, it could be one of the most interesting fights in UFC history. They both have great wrestling.”
Last October 30, Chimaev strangled Li Jinliang at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi. The Swedish fighter of Chechen descent has four straight UFC victories, for each of which he received a post-match bonus.
