Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach (23-6-1, 18 KOs) living in the USA will not fight the ex-world champion in four categories from the USA Adrien Browner (34-4-1, 24 KOs).
As we reported the day before, Redkach published a number of messages on his social network, from which it could be concluded that the fight, previously announced for February 18, but later postponed for a week, would not take place. In particular, Ivan wrote that he had “completed boxing.”
Subsequently, Redkach got in touch with
boxing scene and stated that his disagreements with promoter Joe DeGuardia were to blame.
In particular, the boxer showed a screenshot of their correspondence with the following text:
“Take $35,000 from my purse, or take everything, but let me fight. I need your answer right now,” Ivan wrote to the promoter.
The source suggests that initially the deal for the fight could have been concluded directly between BLK Prime and Redkach’s representatives, but there is without the participation of DeGuardia. The latter, of course, did not like it.
In turn, Redkach does not like the way the promoter treats him.
“He is just a greedy devil,” Ivan characterizes the employer. “He didn’t lift a finger for this fight, but he wanted to make money on me. I gave him all the money, but he still wanted BLK to pay him more.”
Given that Browner ate a hefty belly, and the venue for the duel with Redkach has not yet been made public, it is likely that Adrian’s return to the ring will be delayed.
