The duel turned out to be not very spectacular, as it abounded in clinches – the underdog frankly survived. By round 3, the fight turned into a one-sided beating of the Cuban, with Carrington boxing with an aggressive middle/close-range number one. The American was especially good at jabs, right hands and body hooks.
It seemed that Leiva would hear the final gong, but he was not released for the 6th round. Seems like a vision problem.
