Former world super middleweight champion Mexican Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) is glad that the Russian WBA Super light heavyweight title holder (up to 79.4 kg) Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) previously refused from fighting him to fighting Canelo Alvarez. Because now, after Bivol defeated Alvarez, and the WBA ordered Dmitry to fight Ramirez, a possible victory over the Russian will bring Gilberto even more popularity and respect.

“It’s very good that a lot of people know Bivol now, because when I fight him, I will take everything he has, especially the world title,” Ramirez reflects. “I was supposed to fight Bivol before Canelo but he said no, he wanted to fight Canelo first. In the end, everything ended for me in the best way, because he beat Canelo, and everyone can see how good a fighter he is. Now you will see how good Zurdo Ramirez is. I want to be a champion again, unify the titles and eventually become a legend.”

And Gilberto also said that the rematch between Bivol and Canelo will not take place.
