A featherweight fight between Giga Chikadze and Josh Emmett has been added to the card for UFC 296, which takes place Dec. 16 in Las Vegas.
The bout was officially announced by representatives of the organization.
This past August, Giga Chikadze put his career back on track with a unanimous decision win over Alex Caceres. Prior to that, the 35-year-old Georgian fighter suffered his first loss under the UFC banner, losing by unanimous decision to Kelvin Kattar in five rounds and breaking his seven-fight win streak in the organization.
Josh Emmett, 38, has lost two fights in a row, suffering an early defeat in his interim title fight with Yair Rodriguez and losing by unanimous decision to Elijah Topuria. Prior to his fight with Rodriguez, the American had won five fights in a row, most recently defeating Kelvin Kattar by split decision.
Josh Emmett and Giga Chikaze are currently ranked sixth and eighth in the UFC’s featherweight division rankings, respectively.
