The unified world champion in the second featherweight (up to 59 kg) American Shakur Stevenson (18-0, 9 KOs) can soon replenish the stellar composition of the light division (up to 61.2 kg) and start the campaign for titles in the third category for himself.

According to the undefeated boxer, as soon as he feels that it is becoming difficult for him to cut to 59 kg, he will move up to the next weight.

“In the end, it all comes down to weight loss,” Stevenson said. “I have already done amazing things at 59 kg, in the last two fights I put on a show. So if I have trouble keeping up with the division, I think I’ll go up to 61.2kg. Tell the guys there to get ready.”

“I will not name specific names, I want tops. I don’t want to sit back and pick up convenient opponents or fight those fighters who do not reach the top level, ”said Shakur.

Recall that at the moment Stevenson owns the WBC and WBO titles. In 2022, he won the unification fight over the Mexican Oscar Valdez. On September 23, Shakur is scheduled to defend against the Brazilian Robson Conceição.
