PPV star from the USA, holder of a secondary WBA World lightweight title (up to 61.2 kg) American Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) and Dominican Hector Luis Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs), who owns the WBA title one category lower, held their first joint press conference, announcing their fight, which will be the main event of the boxing evening on January 7 in Washington (USA).
Recall that if Davis wins, presumably in April, he will fight with popular compatriot Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs), who will also have to win an intermediate fight for this.
“Let’s go back to training camp today because we take this guy seriously,” he says. Davis. – I know that I have not one, but two fights scheduled, but I’m only focused on the next one. I’m ready to get everyone out of my way, just ready to shut everyone up. All this talk around, I want to get in the ring and just shut everyone up.”
“I know that I have superior height on my side, but I can adapt to the rhythm of the opponent,” says Garcia. – I have a meeting with one of the best, but I don’t doubt for a second that I have everything I need to win. If I beat Davis on January 7th, I’ll be happy to take on Ryan Garcia after that. I doubt he’s on the same level as me and Gervonta.”
