Former UFC middleweight and welterweight champion George St. Pierre addressed current light heavyweight boxing champion Artur Beterbiev, wishing the Russian good luck in his next fight.
“I found out today that my friend Artur is much better than me at checkers,” the legendary Canadian wrote on social media, posting a joint photo with the Russian boxer.
“Good luck in your next fight!”, GSP added in Russian.
Last weekend, Artur Beterbiev successfully defended his WBC, IBF and WBO titles with an early victory over Britain’s Callum Smith.
The Russian’s next opponent should be his compatriot Dmitry Bivol, who holds the WBA and IBO light heavyweight championship belts. The bout for the title of absolute world champion in boxing in the light-heavyweight category organizers plan to hold this year in the capital of Saudi Arabia Riyadh.
