40-year-old world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin from Kazakhstan (42-1-1, 37 KOs) is sure that the formidable verbal attacks and generally defiant behavior of the Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) at press conferences on the occasion of their forthcoming third fight only testify to one thing: Alvarez is not confident in himself.

According to the Mexican, Golovkin’s previous comments on doping touched him to the core, and now their confrontation for him has moved from a sports plane to a personal feud.

“When someone is unable to see reality, that is his problem. And that says a lot about him,” said Golovkin. – His behavior at press conferences shows how insecure he is (in himself), how much he lives in illusions. He drew his own conclusions from the first press conference. On the second, his behavior was already different. He analyzed what looked funny at first. For a fighter of his caliber, someone who wants to be great, he still has a lot to grow and learn. He is far from being the best.”

Recall that the third fight between Alvarez and Golovkin is scheduled for September 17 in Las Vegas (USA). At stake will be Canelo’s titles in all four major versions in the super middleweight category (up to 76.2 kg).

Golovkin was also asked to compare Sanchez and Banks: the answer of the champion.
