“Regular” WBA super featherweight champion Hector Luis Garcia (16-1, 10 KOs) claims he was able to withstand all the blows of formidable puncher Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) in their recent fight, but that he lost ahead of schedule – it just so happened that the decisive blow of the American at the end of the 8th round was somehow unsuccessful.

Between rounds, Garcia signaled that he could not continue because he could not see well. But the Dominican still insists that Davis’ vaunted punching power didn’t lead him astray.

“The tank is a good fighter. I missed a few of his powerful serves, but he never knocked me out, – said Garcia
Fight Hub. – Although I missed him, I still wanted to continue. He didn’t push me or shake me. The longer the fight lasted, the more confident I became that I could withstand all his blows.

We don’t even know… — our fight report

Although Garcia had his good moments, he was trailing behind Gervonta on the judges’ cards when the fight was stopped. Davis himself does not agree that the fight was close.

However, Hector believes that if the fight continued, “I feel like I could finish him off in the end.” Earlier, he announced the reason for the defeat – not only the referee is to blame, he says.

Disappointing PPV sales figures were released after the fight, but the spec says it’s bullshit, and the fight generated over 200,000 PPV.
