Promoters Frank Warren (queensberry promotions) and Alexander Krasyuk (K2 Promotions) are optimistic, unanimously claim that they will soon close the deal and announce one of the most anticipated fights of the year – a fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between the current holders of all belts Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Ukrainian Alexander Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).
Warren even shared his financial expectations for the fight: “We broke the box office record in April with the fight between Fury and Dillian Whyte. So if we do this fight, I think we’ll set the record again. I think we can expect to sell more than 1 million pay-per-views. Or even more than 1.5 million PPV.”
According to Warren, more than 700,000 pay-per-view broadcasts of the Fury vs. White fight have been made. The champion effortlessly finished off his mandatory challenger, knocked out in the 6th round.
Warren explained why he has such high expectations for this fight: “The Fury vs Usyk fight doesn’t even need any special promotion. We don’t need to introduce Usyk to British fans, he beat Anthony Joshua twice in a row. So the public knows who he is. Promotion for a fight like this is a breeze.”
It was rumored that Joshua could replace Usyk in the Fury fight. Tyson gave an unequivocal answer. But what if it’s still not Usyk? Fury named the next opponent.
