Finalist World Boxing Super Series In the super middleweight division, British ex-world champion George Groves told a curious story. It seems that his star heavyweight compatriot Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) didn’t like Groves’ prediction for the fight with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) – he unexpectedly put an underdog on the victory.

“Somehow I accidentally crossed paths with Fury, —
smiling Groves. – And he asked me: “Dude, why did you bet on Usyk, and not on me?” And I answered him: “Listen, Tyson. Someone chooses one side, someone else. This is how they stir up interest in the fight, make it even more intriguing and interesting.”

Groves believes that “Usyk is his most dangerous opponent in his entire career. This is an incredible fighter. But I agree that Fury is also an incredible fighter.”

Usyk vs Fury is scheduled for April 29 in London (England). The title of absolute heavyweight champion will be at stake. However, the parties have not yet agreed on the distribution of the prize fund. Therefore, it is possible that Tyson will box with someone else.

Former unified division champion Anthony Joshua reacted to the protracted negotiations: “I am sincerely sorry for Usyk.”
