The WBA heavyweight eliminator fight between former contenders British Huey Fury (26-3, 15 KOs) and American Michael Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KOs) will not take place again. The reason is the same – the Englishman is sick.

The fight was supposed to take place back in July, but Fury had to withdraw from the fight, as he caught covid. The fight was postponed to October 29 in Birmingham (England), but Huey again turned on the back at the last moment – he says he has been diagnosed with complications after suffering covid, and doctors advise not to enter the ring.

Rumor has it that this eliminator fight will not be useful at all. Since the fight broke down twice through no fault of the American, he was immediately offered a title title – supposedly on November 26 in London (England) he would fight with the local WBA World belt holder Daniel Dubois (18-1, 17 KOs).

De facto, in this fight, the mandatory challenger for the full-fledged champion of the organization (WBA Super title holder) Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk should also be determined. He also owns the WBO and IBF belts, where mandatory contenders are already waiting for him – Joe Joyce from Britain and Filip Hrgovic from Croatia, respectively.

But we seemed to feel that there would be no fight between Fury and Hunter: the main fights of October in boxing: the comeback of Lomachenko and Wilder, the Paul-Silva fight. In the same series there is an entertaining reading: 10 daring heavyweight predictions for the next 15 months.
