British WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) has finally cast aside talk of his retirement. Now on his agenda is a fight for the title of absolute champion against Ukrainian Oleksandr Uska (20-0, 13 KOs), who owns the WBA, WBO and IBF titles.
At the same time, Fury, whose previous fight against Dillian Whyte took place in April, is ready to fight Usyk in December. Here is the proof.
However, Tyson will have to wait. The day before on
press conferences Alexander, who defeated Anthony Joshua on August 20, answered the question of whether it is possible to have a megafight with Fury by the end of this year.
“Impossible. December is not possible. Impossible for two reasons, – explains the Ukrainian champion. – First – I have some old injuries that have made themselves felt, and which need to be healed. I think that the recovery will be at least a couple of months. And the second – I don’t want to box in December. I just don’t want to box in December. I did not get out of the hall at all for six months. There is no moon – and I howl. I want to spend some time with the kids. I’m back home, there’s a lot of work to be done. I will go to the guys (to the front), to support them. Need to work at home. There is a lot of work here, let boxing wait a bit.”
“Next year, I think it will all happen. Still, it is for sale, you need to wait a bit, ”Usyk states. He will chat a little, lose weight. They will take that keg with beer from him, he sleeps with it. That’s how we drink water – he puts out beer like that. Maybe it’s just healthier than water? You have to ask him and also try.
