Fury could beat Lewis? Opinion of Antonio Tarver

In November, a member International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) and current promoter Barry McGuigan (Cyclone Promotions) was asked what would be the result of the fight between the British heavyweights – the legendary Lennox Lewis and the current heavyweight leader Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs).

The multiple amateur and professional champion American Antonio Tarver answered the same question: “These are two huge boxing giants. Lewis was an Olympic champion, he defeated absolutely every opponent he met as a professional. The same can be said for Fury. How would their head-to-head fight turn out? I think that in the early rounds Tyson would have looked very solid, but sooner or later he would have blundered a fatal blow from Lewis. You know, it’s very difficult to bet on Lennox.”

And Lewis is still the last undisputed world champion in heavyweight history. It is possible that the WBC champion Fury will have a chance to repeat the achievement of his predecessor – he is negotiating with the owner of all other titles, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

Previously, Lewis shared his opinion about the Usyk-Fury fight. And the manager of the Ukrainian Egis Klimas named the date and place, said that the fight was “almost ready”.
