Star content maker and part-time professional boxer Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) is convinced that his appearance gave this sport a breath of life and a new impetus, even saved it from death.
Paul believes that the protagonists of profiboxing have become too spoiled and no longer strive to fight their equals, preferring to fight fewer fights against weak opposition for more rewards.
He shared his thoughts with
MMAFighting.
“Boxing was a dying sport before I got in there and saved it, saved the whole sport pretty much single-handedly,” Jake says. “Fucking Tyson Fury is afraid to fight Anthony Joshua, Fury is afraid to fight Oleksandr Usyk… That’s why boxing is dying, because these fights are optional.”
Recall that on August 6, Paul will enter the ring with heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6 KOs). And he is sure that he will fight McGregor.
