Francis Ngannou will enter the top 10 of the WBC rankings following his fight with Tyson Fury

The World Boxing Council will place Francis Ngannou in the official heavyweight division rankings after evaluating the former UFC titleholder’s performance against current WBC world boxing champion Tyson Fury.

This was reported by the coach of the Cameroonian, Dewey Cooper, with reference to the president of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman.

“Mauricio Sulaiman, the president of the WBC, said that he will include Francis in the top 10 because he is better than most of the heavyweights in the top 10. He said it in the ring,” said the specialist after the fight.

Recall that the fight “Gypsy King” and “Predator”, held the day before in Riyadh, went the whole distance and ended with the victory of the Briton by split decision, with the world boxing champion in the third round was knocked down, and in general showed an extremely unconvincing performance.

In the fight against Ngannou Fury did not risk his championship belt, which he will put on the line on December 23 in a unification fight against Alexander Usik. The winner of this confrontation will become the absolute heavyweight boxing champion of the world, and if the former UFC champion does indeed find himself in a high position in the WBC rankings, he could be named the official challenger for the championship belt.
