Francis Ngannou has challenged Stipe Miocic to a challenge

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who nearly pulled off the greatest upsets in professional boxing history this past weekend, is ready to return to mixed martial arts and complete a trilogy with Stipe Miocic.

The Cameroonian announced this on social media.

“I called out Jon Jones, but I can take the fight with Stipe while I wait for his return,” wrote “The Predator”.

Two days earlier, Francis Ngannou made his professional boxing debut, losing by split decision to Tyson Fury after ten rounds, and not only gave the reigning world champion a competitive fight, but also knocked him out in the third round.

Stipe Miocic was scheduled to fight Jon Jones on Nov. 11, but the reigning UFC heavyweight champion was injured last week and pulled out of the UFC 295 event, and the title fight was postponed until next year.

Miocic and Ngannou have previously fought two bouts. In January 2018, the American successfully defended the UFC heavyweight title by defeating the Cameroonian by unanimous decision over five rounds, and in March 2021, “The Predator” took a convincing rematch with the champion, knocking him out in the second round.

Earlier this year, Francis Ngannou left the UFC as a free agent before signing with the PFL league, where he plans to debut next year.
