Francis Ngannou accepts Deontay Wilder challenge

Former UFC heavyweight title holder Francis Ngannou responded to former WBC heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder, who last week offered him two fights, one under boxing rules and the other under mixed martial arts rules.

“Welcome to the free world Bronze Bomber!” the Predator wrote on the social media. “I hope you are a man of your word. See you soon”

Francis Ngannou last entered the octagon in January last year, successfully unifying the interim and current UFC heavyweight titles against Cyril Gan, and left the organization a year later as a free agent.

Deontay Wilder got his career back on track last October by knocking out Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius in the first round. Thus, he closed two early defeats from Tyson Fury, to whom he lost his championship belt.

In addition to Deontay Wilder, the teams of Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury have reported interest in the boxing match with the Cameroonian.
