Former UFC fighter Yakovlev will fight in Chelyabinsk in the NGL promotion

Ex-UFC fighter Alexander Yakovlev will perform in the NGL 5 tournament. The NGL press service reports this on Instagram, but does not specify when the tournament will take place and who will become Yakovlev’s opponent.

According to Vestnik MMA, Yakovlev will fight against Edil Yesengulov (12 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw), and the NGL 5 tournament with their participation will take place on February 19 in Chelyabinsk.

On account of the 37-year-old Yakovlev 25 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw. In the last fight, which took place in October 2020 at the UFC 254 tournament in Abu Dhabi, Yakovlev lost to Yoel Alvarez by submission. In the past, the Russian fought fighters such as Demian Maia and Kamaru Usman. The latter is currently the reigning UFC welterweight champion.
