The welterweight bout between Shavkat Rakhmonov and Jeff Neal is still up and running on March 4 at UFC 285 in Las Vegas.
The new date for the fight was announced by well-known sportswriter Brett Okamoto.
The fight of the top welterweights was announced as the second most important event of the UFC Fight Night 217 tournament, which will take place on January 14, however, a week ago, the American was injured and dropped out of the event. The matchmakers of the organization tried to leave Nomad on the card, but in the end it was decided to postpone the fight.
Shavkat Rakhmonov, 28, is leading a four-fight streak in the UFC, finishing with Neil Magny’s guillotine choke in his last fight.
32-year-old Jeff Neal scored two victories in a row, winning a split decision over Santiago Ponzinibbio and knocking out Vicente Luque.
Currently, Jeff Neil and Shavkat Rakhmonov are ranked seventh and tenth in the UFC welterweight rankings, respectively.
