Club Municipal Lagomarsino, Pilar, Argentina. In the main event of the show, the vacant WBC Silver belt in cruiserweight (up to 90.7 kg) was played by local prospect Yamil Peralta (14-1, 7 KOs) and veteran gatekeeper from Brazil Fabio Maldonado (28-6, 27 KOs).

The fight did not turn out to be competitive. The local favorite dropped the 42-year-old opponent three times – first in the 2nd round, then twice more in the 3rd three-minute period. This fight ended.

Peralta TKO 3.

Apparently, this is how the WBC “paid off” the Argentinean.

Recall that in May, Peralta was impudently robbed in Canada in a fight with a local ex-challenger Ryan Rozicky (fought for the same WBC Silver belt). The WBC allegedly reacted to the disgrace – they made the belt vacant, Peralta was left higher in the ratings than Rozitski, they demanded a rematch …

…but suddenly changed their minds: now the Canadian will fight Makabu for a full-fledged title: there is already a date. And so that Peralta would not buzz, he (as promised) was returned the WBC Silver belt and even discharged a digestible opponent (Maldonado). It is possible that he is the next in line candidate for the title of Makabu.

It remains only to find out why the WBC is lobbying so solidly Rozicky?
