Fabricio Werdum challenges Francis Ngannou

Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, behind two of the biggest upsets in mixed martial arts history, is looking to add to his roster with a win over a rumored PFL-fueled Francis Ngannou.

“Hi Francis. I shocked the world when I beat Fedor and when I beat Kane to become the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion. You have a lot of holes in the game. Let’s do it PFL. There is only one way to find out – with the help of the PFL cell,” the Brazilian wrote on the social network, referring to the Cameroonian.

Two months ago, Werdum, 45, who hasn’t played since May 2021, revealed that his PFL contract had expired and that he was a free agent.

“My contract with the PFL is over,” Werdum told MMA Fighting. “Two years ago I had a fight and I had some problems that didn’t allow me to come back. I needed a rest, and during this time the contract expired “

Earlier, the president of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong, announced that his league refuses to continue negotiations with Francis Ngannou, who, in addition to financial conditions, demanded that he be included on the board of directors of the organization. According to the Predator’s version, which was voiced by sports journalist Ariel Helwani, the former UFC heavyweight champion refused ONE Championship because he gave verbal consent to the PFL, with which he plans to sign an agreement in the near future.
