Ex-Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas has found a new fighting home after inking a deal to join the roster at Eagle FC.

Eagle FC officials confirmed the signing to MMA Fighting on Thursday.

Dantas has been on a winning streak of two fights and had won in his last three appearances.

The 33-year old Brazilian scored a highlight reel head kick knockout against Jose Alday at FAC 12 in Missouri. UFC president Dana White was there filming his reality series Lookin’ for a Fight .

At that time it seemed Dantas might earn a UFC contract based on his win. But ultimately, the promotion decided not to sign him.

The UFC will lose, but Eagle FC will win. The promotion is owned by Khabib Nurmagomedov who was a former lightweight champion of the UFC. It will add another bantamweight fighter to their roster.

Since debuting in the United States back in January, Eagle FC has held two events, with both cards featuring high-profile bantamweight fights with one-time UFC title challenger Ray Borg, who already holds a 2-0 record in the promotion.

There’s no word yet when Dantas will make his debut, but Eagle FC has planned several more cards for the U.S. market for the remainder of 2022, with its next event scheduled for May 20.

The May 20 card features Junior Dos Santos, an ex-UFC heavyweight champ against Yorgan Castro. Eagle FC officials confirmed that another fight was being planned for the card when UFC veteran Roosevelt Roberts faces Alexander Almeida.
