The sides of the British boxers Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KOs) and Conor Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) have practically agreed to hold a fight in the intermediate weight up to 70.8 kg.

The deal is close to closing
Daily Star.

The date and place of the fight have already been agreed – October 8, London, arena O2.

It should be noted that boxers have never competed in the same weight category. Eubank, from the very beginning of his career, has been balancing between middle (up to 72.6 kg) and second middle weight (up to 76.2 kg). Benn has so far boxed exclusively in the welterweight division (up to 66.7 kg).

It is noteworthy that Benn spoke about the desire to fight Eubank back in June. However, a month later, Conor’s promoter Eddie Hearn said that their priority option was the American ex-world champion Keith Thurman, who allegedly “has money” to fight.

We add that this year both Eubank and Benn had one fight each: Chris outboxed compatriot Liam Williams (UD 12) in early February, while Conor dealt with South African Chris van Heerden in two rounds in April.
