Derek Ennis, father and coach of the newly minted “interim” IBF welterweight world champion (up to 66.7 kg) American Jaron Ennis (30-0, 27 KOs), is sure that they could not win another early victory only through fault opponent in the last fight, Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan (21-2, 11 KOs).

Recall that the fight lasted the entire 12-round distance and ended in a crushing victory for Ennis on points. At the same time, his impressive winning streak of 19 knockout victories in a row was interrupted.

Report from vRINGe: Ennis-Chukhadjian: He doesn’t bark, he bites!

“Well, we got an opponent who did not enter the ring to fight,” said Ennis the father. – Do you understand what I mean? For this reason, I told my son to press him and try to force him to fight. But he (Chukhadzhyan) still did not want to fight. And we couldn’t do anything about it.”

“Because of that, we had to keep doing what we are doing. We won every round and I’m glad we made it through 12 rounds. And you saw for yourself that Jaron wasn’t even tired,” Derek added.

Still, the Ennis are glad in their own way that they couldn’t beat Chukhajian, and Jaron himself even took his hat off to Karen.
