Ukrainian welterweight (up to 66.7 kg) Karen Chukhadzhyan (21-2, 11 KOs) will hold the next fight in Germany, after which he will most likely perform again in the USA, and against a top opponent.
This was told by the coach of the Ukrainian boxer, ex-world champion Vyacheslav Senchenko.
Recall that on January 7, Chukhadzhyan boxed in Washington for the title of “interim” IBF champion against American Jaron Ennis and ruined the knockout statistics for the favorite, losing by decision of the judges.
“We have a fight scheduled for April 30 in Germany. Karen will box in Hamburg. I think it will be an eight round fight. We have several candidates for opponents, but so far there is no specifics. We plan to have a fight in which we close the defeat, and then have a big fight, – said Senchenko. – We already offered a fight to the American Rashidi Ellis, who boxed with us in the same show in Washington, then he lost to the Venezuelan Royman Villa. We offered his team a duel, but they refused, because it is risky for them to box with Karen immediately after the defeat. Therefore, we decided to box in Hamburg, and then we’ll see, maybe we will return to this option.
“If he doesn’t come out with Ellis, then anyway we won’t be left without a top fight, we were promised a big fight in the USA after the fight in Germany. However, we do not look behind the back of a future opponent, so first you need to win the April match, ”added Vyacheslav.
Not so long ago, Chukhadzhyan admitted that he was aiming for another top Welterweight knockout.
