Dustin Porier gave his prediction for the fight with Islam Makhachev

UFC lightweight title challenger Dustin Puryear has responded to the division’s current champion, Islam Makhachev, who has promised to finish him with a rear-naked choke.

“I don’t see too many holes in his game, and that makes sense because he’s the best fighter in the world regardless of weight class, but I’ll knock him out flat and the ref will drag me off. And yes, I’ll make at least one guillotine run,” the American told Yahoo! Sports.

Earlier, the Russian fighter described the end of the title fight as follows:

“I’m going to move him down, he’s going to try to do a guillotine, I’m going to take his back and choke him out, that’s it,” the UFC champion said in an interview with Mike Bohn.

The lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Porier will be the main event of UFC 302, which takes place June 1 in Newark.

“Diamond” was given a title shot after a rematch with Makhachev was turned down by the division’s No. 1 contender, Arman Tsarukyan, who defeated Charles Oliveira in a challenger’s bout due to lack of time to prepare for the fight.
