The long-awaited rematch between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will be the main event of UFC 291 on July 29 in Salt Lake City, with the BMF title vacated by retired Jorge Masvidal at stake.

All fights were officially announced by representatives of the organization.

The first duel between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje took place in April 2018 and ended with Diamond’s victory by technical knockout in the fourth round.

In March of this year, Justin Gaethje returned his career to a successful track, defeating Rafael Fiziev by a majority of judges’ votes. Thus, Highlight closed an unsuccessful attempt to take away the UFC lightweight championship belt from Charles Oliveira, whom he lost to in May last year by rear naked choke in the first round.

Dustin Poirier last entered the octagon last November, finishing with a rear naked choke in the third round of Michael Chandler. Before that, he lost ahead of schedule to Oliveira, and also finished Conor McGregor twice.
