Matchroom Boxing arranged the first press conference dedicated to the return fight of ex-contenders for world heavyweight titles – Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (29-2, 14 KOs) and Briton Derek Chisora (32-12, 23 KOs).

These two will meet in a month, July 9 on O2 Arena in London (England).

The men talked peacefully to the press, then had an imposing duel of looks, shook hands and joked again. It’s good when everyone is good:

In the first meeting six years ago, in May 2016, the boxers went the whole distance: Pulev was awarded the victory by a split decision.

Since then, Derek has not slowed down, but things have been going so-so for him lately: he has not won since the fall of 2019, when he stopped David Price in the 4th round. On points, the Briton flew Usyk and Parker twice.

As for Pulev, at the end of 2020 he lost ahead of schedule in the 9th round to Anthony Joshua and then went out only once: in the spring of 2022, having reworked the middle peasant Jerry Forrest with a “point”. In an exhibition fight in November 2021, Kubrat quickly knocked out former UFC champion Frank Mir.

In early June, Kownacki pulled out of a fight with Chisora.
