Don’t look for justice in the world of boxing…

In November 2020, the British top heavyweight prospect Daniel “Dynamite” Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) lost ahead of time to compatriot Joe “Juggernaut” Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs). And despite the fact that since then his level of opposition has been much lower than that of the antagonist, he managed to get ahead of him – he won the WBA World title and even made one title defense.

And Dubois is ahead of Joyce in pursuit of the unified champion and division leader Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). The WBA claims that he is the next in line to fight for three championship titles (WBA Super, IBF, WBO) Ukrainian.

Joyce, of course, does not like all this. And he’s in shockedthat Dubois nearly knocked out Kevin Lerene in his debut defense of the belt: “Without experience, without anything, he suddenly becomes the WBA World champion. I was in the stadium when he fought. What happened there? It may not have warmed up properly. This may explain the problems with the knee and how terrible it looked. I looked at it all and thought: “Fuck, he’s completely broken – 3 knockdowns in the opening round. What’s going on?”

“I am shocked that despite all this, it is he who is offered a fight for full belts. I think it’s no coincidence,” Joyce suspects.

A little later, however, it turned out that Dubois has not yet claimed a fight with Usyk – and there are reasons for that. The duel with Lerena turned out to be scandalous. According to coach Teddy Atlas, “the right opponent, the right referee”.
