Former UFC flyweight title holder Deiveson Figueredo may have his next fight in the bantamweight division against former division champion Dominick Cruz.
A Brazilian-American standoff is rumored to be in the works for September, according to people close to the situation.
Deiveson Figueredo was scheduled to return to the octagon this weekend at UFC 290 in Las Vegas, but pulled out of his scheduled fight against Manel Cape citing an eye injury. Prior to this, the 35-year-old Brazilian had four fights in a row against Brandon Moreno, in the last confrontation with whom he lost the championship belt for the second time.
