Former UFC bantamweight title challenger Dominick Reyes will return to the octagon on Jan. 20 at UFC 297 in Toronto, and the American’s opponent will be New Zealand’s Carlos Ulberg.
Informed sources close to the situation said about the organization of the fight.
After a controversial title defeat to Jon Jones, 33-year-old Dominick Reyes suffered three more consecutive losses, losing by knockouts to Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka and Ryan Spann.
Carlos Ulberg, 32, on the other hand, is riding a five-fight win streak in the UFC, finishing Da Un Jang with a rear-naked choke in his last fight.
Dominick Reyes is currently ranked thirteenth in the UFC’s welterweight rankings, while Carlos Ulberg is not yet a top-15 fighter in the division.
Also part of the numbered Canadian event will be a rematch of top welterweights Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic, a development we reported on last week.
