Derek Chisora: “White Usik won thanks to the white referee and white judges”

Former world heavyweight boxing title challenger, Britain’s Dereck Chisora, is confident that his compatriot Daniel Dubois was robbed of victory in his title fight against Oleksandr Usik on racial grounds.

“We need a video referee system,” Chisora said in an interview with Boxing King Media. “First of all, a black guy is fighting in a white country, he’s surrounded by white people. The referee is white, the judges are white. What the hell else can you expect? It doesn’t matter what the black guy shows. He sent Usik to a knockout, but he wasn’t given the win”

Oleksandr Usik successfully defended his WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight boxing titles last weekend by knocking out Daniel Dubois in the ninth round at an event in Poland, however, the Ukrainian was himself on the canvas in the fifth round after a body kick, but instead of a countout, he was given five minutes by the referee to recover as if he had been hit below the belt.

After the fight, the British team protested, stating their intention to appeal and challenge the result of the title match.
