Middleweights Derek Brunson and Jack Hermansson are set to clash at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event scheduled on Dec. 3 with a location for the card still to be determined.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Saturday. Ariel Helwani initially reported the matchup.

Brunson, a stalwart at the top of middleweight ranks, will be back to action following his five fight win streak that was stopped by Jared Cannonier in February. Brunson had been close to title contention before that defeat. He’d won impressive victories over Kevin Holland, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Darren Till.

Now the one-time NCAA Division II All-American wrestler will look to get back to his winning ways while facing another veteran in the division.

After bouncing back-and-forth between wins and loses during his six previous appearances in UFC, Hermansson is now ready to fight. Hermansson won a unanimous decision over Chris Curtis in his most recent fight, which was a rebound from his loss to Sean Strickland.

Hermansson faces Brunson on December 1st to attempt his first win in two fights since 2019.
