Former top UFC middleweight Derek Brunson, who has signed with the PFL league, will make his debut for the organization on Nov. 24 at the season finale event in Washington, D.C., and his opponent will be two-time PFL welterweight champion Ray Cooper III, who returns to the cage after a nearly year-and-a-half hiatus.
The American’s bout, which will take place within the middleweight division, was officially announced by PFL officials.
Derek Brunson, 39, left the UFC on a streak of two early defeats, losing by knockouts to Jared Cannonier and Dricus Du Plessis.
Last year, the 30-year-old Ray Cooper had his third failed playoff appearance of the season, losing his opening match by unanimous decision to Carlos Lil Miranda and then finishing Brett Cooper by technical knockout. In 2021, the American knocked out Russian Magomed Magomedkerimov in the third round in the final match of the season.
