Derek Brunson has signed with the PFL league

Former top UFC middleweight Derek Brunson, who parted ways with the world’s strongest league last month, will continue his career with the PFL.

The 39-year-old American will compete in the organization’s welterweight division, where he will compete for one million dollars next season starting in 2024. The announcement was made by Brunson’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, in an interview with The Schmo.

In November, Derek Brunson was scheduled to fight one last fight under his current contract with the UFC, but dropped out of a bout with Roman Dolidze, who was announced as part of the UFC 295 event, and left the organization.

Moving to the UFC in 2012 after a Strikeforce takeover, Brunson has fought 21 fights in the league, winning 14 and losing 7, including knockout losses to Jared Cannonier and Dricus Du Plessis in his last two fights.
