Deontay Wilder arrested in Hollywood

Former WBC heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder has been arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon.

According to a police report, Wilder’s car was pulled over in Hollywood at 1:15 a.m. because the Rolls-Royce windows were illegally tinted and the license plate was hidden.

Police searched the car after smelling marijuana and found drugs and a nine-millimeter pistol.

After that, Wilder, who offered no resistance and was ready to cooperate, was arrested and spent several hours in prison, from where he was released on bail at 6:34 am local time.

According to available information, Deontay Wilder is scheduled to fight his next fight in December against former WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua.

The last time the American entered the ring was in October last year, knocking out Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius in the first round and closing two early losses from Tyson Fury.
