American top lightweight Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs), who seems to have a superfight scheduled for a couple of months against Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs), showed up at the Super Bowl in a wheelchair yesterday. The reason is a “recent ankle injury,” writes
TMZ Sports.

Meanwhile, according to the tabloid, Gervonta expects to recover by the date of the fight.

It’s unclear when the 28-year-old puncher was injured or how serious it was, but Davis himself said as he left the stadium. State Farm in Glendale, Arizona, that he was “all right.”

“Shit happens all the time. Shit happens,” Davis added philosophically.

Garcia climbed into
Twitter and wrote: “Stay focused, champ, we have a fight ahead of us.”

The long-awaited megafight is scheduled for April 15 in Las Vegas (USA). The other day, the parties stalled in negotiations and the battle was on the verge of collapse, but the problem was soon resolved.

Boxing star Canelo thinks Gervonta will beat his former pal Garcia.
