Daveson Figueredo: “I’m the antivirus to O’Malley”.

Former UFC flyweight titleholder, Deiveson Figueredo, who made a successful debut in the organization’s lightweight division, believes he has all the skills necessary to dethrone the division’s current champion, Sean O’Malley.

“I think he has a lot to worry about,” the Brazilian said on another edition of The MMA Hour program. “If he’s a virus, I’m an antivirus for him.”

“I came into the division with a big name, I’m a two-time former champion. I feel great in the new weight class and a fight with O’Malley is a real possibility. However, I’m going to patiently wait to see what the UFC has in store for me.”

“The first name that comes to my mind is Sean O’Malley, but I’m ready to face anyone they put up against me.”

Deiveson Figueredo won a dominant unanimous decision over Rob Font earlier this month to move up to No. 8 in the lightweight division rankings, and Sean O’Malley, who took the title from Aljamain Sterling in August, will make his first defense of the belt on March 9 at UFC 299 in Miami against Marlon Vera.
