Former dual UFC champion Daniel Cormier gives credit to Alexander Volkanovski but doesn’t think the Australian was sued against Islam Makhachev.
“Alexander Volkanovski was the first to make Islam Makhachev look like a man,” Sportskeeda quotes the American. “He made him look human, but he still didn’t win the fight. And the way people praise Alexander and admire his performance once again shows how special Islam Makhachev is. All in all, it was an amazing fight.”
The title super fight between Makhachev and Volkanovski, in which the former defended the UFC lightweight championship belt, and the latter the title of the best fighter regardless of the weight category, led the UFC 284 tournament in Perth and ended with the victory of the Russian by unanimous decision with a score of 49-46 and 48- 47 twice.
A few hours after the fight, the Australian, having reviewed the recording, announced that he had won the fight, demanding an immediate rematch, and one of those who agreed with him was longtime UFC commentator and Cormier’s colleague Joe Rogan.
